Urine Drug Testing: Is one of the most commonly used methods for detecting drug use over a period of time. Non-invasive and provides a comprehensive analysis of recent drug use.  

 

Detection Window– A urine sample is collected and analyzed for the presence of specific drugs or their metabolites. Drugs and their metabolites can be detected for longer periods in a urine drug test compared to other methods. 

  

 Advantages– Detects a wider range of drugs; can be easily collected and transported. 

Oral fluid Drug Testing: Provides insights into recent drug use.  

 

Detection Window– Detects shortly after ingestion, typically 24-48 hours. 

 

Advantages– Easy to collect without special facilities; harder to adulterate compared to urine samples.  

The testing method can be determined by the facility based on the detection window required and the specific needs of the testing scenario.

OptimaLab performs all General Lab test and Drug testing. Not all tests are performed in-house and may be sent to a reference Lab. 

Yes, simply send us your patient’s standing order, and OptimaLab will contact them to set up a home draw. 

Results can be faxed or be accessed through our Secure online Portal.  

Yes, OptimaLab will keep Serum samples for 7 days from the time it was received in Lab. Whole blood tests can only be added within 24 hours. 

Most test results will be available within 24-28hrs from the time it is received.

General Chemistry Testing

  • Basic metabolic panel (BMP) checks for levels of calcium, glucose, sodium, potassium, bicarbonate, chloride, blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine.

  • Comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP) includes all the measurements of a BMP and additional tests such as albumin, protein, alkaline phosphatase (ALP), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and bilirubin.

  • Lipid panel includes cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and low-density lipoprotein (LDL).

  • Thyroid function test include T3, T4 and Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH).
  • Hematology Testing Routinely Include:
